Diddy to Co-Executive Produce Rick Ross Album
Diddy has good reason why he's been spending so much time in the studio with Rick Ross lately. The Bad Boy Records founder is set to co-executive produce Rozay's sixth studio album, Mastermind.
Although he was originally said to be mixing the release, Diddy is more than qualified to sit in the producer seat. In addition to a successful solo career, his production credits include the likes of Jay Z, Beyoncé, Aretha Franklin, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and more.
The Grammy winner also brings over 20 years of music industry experience to the table, and is lauded in hip hop for his work with the late Notorious B.I.G.
“Diddy is one of the greatest producers of all time and someone I respect," Ross said in a statement to BET.com. "He has a proven track record of not only creating hit records but also classic albums. It just made sense for me to have him be a part of this process."
From the looks of it, Ross is close to making the "classic" album he talked about in an interview late last year. Aside from Diddy's input the LP will feature collaborations with Jay ("The Devil Is a Lie") and Jeezy ("War Ready").
Earlier today Ross debuted a new video teaser titled "4 AM in Atlanta," and previously unveiled standard- and deluxe-edition album artwork last month.
Mastermind drops March 4.
