Nearly All Players From The Texans Knelt For Anthem Over Owner’s “Inmates Running The Prison” Comments
Houston Texans Owner Bob McNair’s “figure of speech” is causing an immediate and direct response from his players.
During their game against the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon (October 29), almost every player on the Texans knelt during the national anthem in protest of their boss.
Last week, McNair, at a closed-door meeting, expressed his dissatisfaction with how the anthem protests were affecting his business and made the remark, “We can’t have the inmates running the prison.”
He later apologized for using the incorrect “figure of speech.” Prior to today’s game, a statement was issued by the NFL Players Coalition, who voiced their displeasure and suggested a meeting between McNair, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and former 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
