Fashion Fair Names Sam Fine New Creative Director

The beauty guru gives BET.com a preview of the education he'll be bringing to his new position.

The oldest Black-owned cosmetics company in the world is getting a face–lift courtesy of makeup artist Sam Fine. The beauty expert has been named "creative makeup director" and will be revamping the line, as well as introducing a fresh collection of treats aptly titled, "Sam Fine for Fashion Fair."
Fine, a twenty–year beauty veteran, has a long list of clients that includes Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Queen Latifah and Naomi Campbell. He's solidified his signature look as flawless and natural, highlighting the most beautiful features of Black women with his legendary techniques. The inclusion of Fine will surely send women racing to drugstore aisles to cop the newly renovated cosmetics line which, over time, has lost its prominence with younger generations.
We recently spoke to Fine, who gave us a preview of the beauty education he'll be bringing to his new position. "I think that a lot of women of color always think 'If I wear foundation or powder, I'll look like pancake face or it will look heavy.' A lot of women don't realize that powder and foundation unifies their tones," the maven advised. "If you don't have on foundation and powder, the bronzer doesn't go on as even and as beautifully. What bronzer does is bring back that glow in a more controlled way."
The new collection hits shelves in 2012.
