White Georgia Teacher Writes N-Word on Board—Students Demand Accountability

The incident is being investigated, but for many, it’s part of a larger pattern of unchecked racism in American classrooms.

A white teacher at Walnut Grove High School in Loganville, Georgia, has been terminated after a video surfaced showing him writing a racial slur on a classroom whiteboard. The incident, which quickly went viral, has ignited widespread condemnation and renewed concerns about racism in educational settings.

In the 19-second video, Robert Walker, who also served as an assistant wrestling coach, is seen writing the N-word on the board, omitting the final letter. A student off-camera then shouts the missing letter, prompting Walker to complete the word, which elicits laughter and cheers from the students present. The video concludes shortly thereafter.

Adrienna Wyatt, a concerned parent, expressed her dismay over the incident, stating, "That should never be brought up in a classroom, like, ever." She revealed that her daughter recorded the video and that they decided to share it publicly to hold the teacher accountable. The footage has since garnered over 40,000 views online.

While some community members attempted to downplay the event as a joke, Wyatt questioned the appropriateness of such humor in an educational environment, asking, "What kind of joke inside a classroom setting has to deal with those types of racial slurs?"

In response to the backlash, the Walton County School District issued a statement condemning the behavior depicted in the video, asserting that it does not reflect the values of Walnut Grove High School or the district. They confirmed that immediate action was taken and that the district no longer employs the teacher involved.

The incident has sparked broader discussions about the need for comprehensive anti-bias training and accountability measures within schools to prevent similar occurrences.
