'We Walked Straight Into A Nightmare' Judge Glenda Hatchett's Son Breaks His Silence About Tragic C-Section Death Of His Wife

Kira Dixon Johnson tragically died after suffering massive blood loss during the procedure.

Previously we brought you the tragic story about TV Judge Glenda Hatchett and her son, who lost his wife after a C-section procedure that went terribly wrong.

It’s been over two years since Kira Dixon Johnson passed away after suffering massive blood loss just 12 hours after giving birth. At the time, Hatchett addressed the press briefly about her daughter-in-law’s death, but now, we’re getting more details from her son, Charles Johnson IV. He recently sat down with KSDK and opened up about the heartbreak his family suffered since Kira’s passing.

“They told me there was nothing they could do to save her, that she was gone,” he recalled of what the medical staff informed him, stunned just hours after the joyous birth of his second son. He says that his wife at the time “wasn't just in good health, but in exceptional health.”

“We walked in for what we expected to be the happiest day of our life. And we walked straight into a nightmare,” Charles added. “I sit awake at nights thinking maybe I should have grabbed somebody by the collar, maybe I should’ve turned a table over, would that have made a difference? Even two years later, I still can't make sense of it in my mind.”

Kira died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in April 2016 after she was scheduled to deliver her son Langston via C-section.

The family’s lawyer told the news station that the complications Kira suffered could have been avoided. “They researched, they were in Los Angeles, they knew that Cedar Sinai was a world-class hospital and after she died,” Hatchett said ‘Oh, had we gotten her back to the operating room she would be perfectly fine. Oh if we had..’"

“Well why the hell didn't they? It was not that she was sick, it's not that she had a preexisting condition, that she had a heart problem or she had a blood clot, none of that was Kira's case,” she continued.

In May 2017, Hatchett revealed that Johnson filed a wrongful death lawsuit over his wife’s death. Johnson is seeking damages for wrongful death and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
