DL Hughley Says Keaton Jones' Mother Should Not Change Our Compassion For Him And Sparked A Debate About Empathy
The comedian used the story of Tamir Rice as an example.
As the conversation surrounding Keaton Jones, his alleged bullying and the allegations of racism in his family heats up, comedian DL Hughley revealed how he feels about the entire situation.
During an episode of his radio show, Hughley asked if Kimberly Jones' alleged Facebook posts change the compassion people have for her son. Then, Hughley answered his own question by saying the actions of the parent do not change the pain of the child and empathy we should have for him.
Hughley addressed the topic during 'the DL Hughley Show'
As an example, Hughley brought up shooting of Tamir Rice and how several media outlets brought up the history of his father as a way to somehow justify the killing of a young Black child.
Although Hughley made it clear that he believed Keaton still deserves love, some people disagreed
While others argued the only way to combat hate is with love and compassion
