The Weeknd Has Set a Big Billboard Chart Record
You can’t turn on the radio without hearing at least one song by The Weeknd. The dominance on the airwaves has allowed him to break a Billboard record and make history.
The Toronto crooner is the first artist to have all three of his songs — “Earned It” (3), “The Hills (2) and “Can’t Feel My Face” (1) — on the Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. By comparison, Robin Thicke is the only other artist to have two out of three spots with “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell, and “Give It 2 You,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, in 2013.
Although the Hot R&B Songs chart is three years old, it’s an impressive feat. His forthcoming album, Beauty Behind the Madness, is scheduled for Aug. 28.
