Alfonso Ribeiro to Host America's Funniest Home Videos
Bring on the awkward family movies. Alfonso Ribeiro will be the new host of America's Funniest Home Videos, ABC has announced.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum will take over for Tom Bergeron, who hosts another show near and dear to Ribeiro's heart: Dancing With the Stars. Ribeiro, the visionary behind the Carlton Dance, won the ballroom dance competition show last season.

AFHV kicks off its 26th season this year; it was first hosted by Full House star Bob Saget. The family-friendly series has managed to resist the urge to modify its format, despite a total transformation in the world of user-generated content in the past decade. Ribeiro vows to maintain the show's tried-and-true format.
“It won’t be very different,” he tells Entertainment Weekly. “It’s really about assisting the videos, not trying to overpower the videos with your comedy. It’s a show that I’ve watched for many years — loved watching it, watch it with my kids.”
Which videos is Ribeiro most looking forward to? “My favorite is when people do things to hurt themselves,” he says. “I just love watching people attempt to do something that they absolutely should not attempt to do and wipe out. I love it.”
