Donald Trump Banned from Using Isaac Hayes Song at Rallies Following Lawsuit from Late Singer’s Family
Donald Trump has been banned from playing the iconic soul hit "Hold On, I’m Coming" at his campaign rallies after a lawsuit filed by Isaac Hayes' estate.
On Tuesday (Sept. 3), U.S. District Judge Thomas Thrash granted a temporary injunction against Trump for repeatedly using the song. Isaac Hayes III expressed his appreciation for the ruling and hopes it will encourage other artists to protect their music from political misuse.
The legal fight began when Trump ignored a cease and desist order that followed the song’s use at a 2022 NRA convention.
