Police Name a Suspect in Slim Dunkin Murder

Atlanta police have identified rapper Young Vito as the alleged shooter in Slim Dunkin murder.

On the day family and friends mourned the loss of rapper Slim Dunkin (born Mario Hamilton) at a funeral service in Atlanta, police continued their search for another local rapper, Young Vito, who has been identified as the main suspect in the slaying.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, investigators are urging Vito, whose real name is Vinson Hardimon, to turn himself in as he may be in danger.

“We are urging Mr. Hardimon to turn himself in to authorities because we have reason to believe he may be in danger,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a release on Thursday.

Atlanta Detective David Quinn made a plea to the family of Hardimon to advise the 28-year-old up-and-coming rapper to contact the authorities.

“I want the family of Mr. Vinson Hardimon to give us a call, let us know,” the detective said. “We are fearful for his safety, because we don’t want anything to happen to him.”

From the statements given to police it’s believed that Slim and Vito got into a fist fight on December 16 at an Atlanta recording studio, that reportedly started over a piece of candy, and eventually led to Slim, 24, being shot in the chest.

Slim Dunkin’s close friends and Brick Squad affiliates, Waka Flocka Flame and Gucci Mane, attended Friday’s memorial service at Berean Christian Church. Mourners wore “R.I.P. Mario Hamilton” t-shirts in honor of the late MC.
