Chris Brown and Drake Sue Each Other Over Brawl
The fallout from Drake and Chris Brown’s nightclub brawl continues to drag on in the public eye as both superstars have filed legal action against one another in relation to the incident. Their June 2012 altercation at W.i.P. nightclub in New York City resulted in a media firestorm as well as multiple allegations and suits against both parties for their parts in the fight.
Now, with model Romain Julien filing a suit against both artists as well as the club, lawyers for Brown and Drake are asking the court to place sole responsibility for the fight and all resulting damages on the opposing party, according to TMZ. "It's a little technical, but each is asking the judge to pin the blame on the other," the celebrity news site reported.
Neither is accepting responsibility for their role in starting the brawl, and thus would like a judge to rule that the other would be responsible for paying Julien in case he does win his civil suit.
Though both stars have been cleared of criminal charges in the bottle-throwing incident there are a number of lawsuits pending in the case. All told, the legal fallout could cost Brown and Drake millions. Brown's most recent altercation with singer Frank Ocean is yet another reason these suits may be of great concern to his camp. Lawyers for any number of the plaintiffs could look to argue that the singer has a history of public disturbances.
There have been no court dates announced for any of the civil suits in the case.
