Wu-Tang Clan Plans to Release a Secret Double Album

The group will take the only existing copy on tour for the public.

The Wu-Tang Clan, indubitably, ain't nothing to eff with.

The hip hop collective has been secretly recording Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, a double album, for the past six years, reports Billboard, and they plan to release only one copy of it via a heavily secured tour of festivals, galleries and museums the kinds of spaces where exclusive art is exhibited.

"We're about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before," RZA told Forbes. "We're about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music. We're making a single-sale collector's item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king."

The special edition collector's copy will then be sold off at an expected asking price, "in the millions," he said.

The 31-track collection will be presented in a hand-carved nickle silver box designed by British Moroccan artist Yahya, and engraved with the iconic Wu "W." It was produced by Cilvaringz, "under the tutelage of RZA," and includes the "entire" Clan plus guest features by Bonnie Jo Mason, Redman and FC Barcelona soccer players.

A full website has already been developed and launched, along with a proposed hashtag campaign: #Norules.

Tour dates have yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the Wu is also planning to release the embattled 20-year anniversary celebration album, A Better Tomorrow, which reportedly will feature unreleased ODB vocals. The collection's first single, "Keep Watch," dropped online last week.
