Drake’s Message To Kevin Durant Following His Game 5 Injury Might Bring Tears To Your Eyes

"Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game...."

Drake has spent much of the 2019 NBA playoffs riling up the Golden State Warriors and their fans with jabs, good-natured trolling and traded barbs. But the rapper put aside the drama after Kevin Durant unexpectedly bowed out in the second quarter.

  • The power forward made his long-awaited return to the court on Monday (June 10) after sitting out nine games to recuperate from an injury. KD got off to a hot start, racking up 11 points in 12 minutes. Things took a turn for the worse when he injured his Achilles nine minutes before halftime.

While Raptor fans were cheering, Drake was visibly upset. ESPN caught footage of Drizzy consoling KD as he limped off the floor. KD ultimately left on crutches before the game ended.

  • Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry also showed Kev some love during the Raptors post-game conference interview.

“In this league, we’re all brothers,” he told a room of reporters. “At the end of the day, we’re all brothers…You never wanna see a competitor like him go down.”

  • Despite the circumstances, KD took to social media to show support for his teammates after their victory in Game 5.

"I'm hurting deep in the soul right now I can't lie," Durant wrote in his IG Stories. "But seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, I got new life. #dubs"

  • The Warriors pulled off a stunning comeback in the fourth quarter to beat the Toronto Raptors 106 to 105. Many are hoping Kevin Durant, who will have an MRI done on Tuesday, can be back for Game 6 on Thursday (June 13).
