David Banner Speaks Out on His Shouting Match With Lyfe Jennings
David Banner let his passion get the best of him yesterday (July 12) during a town hall meeting in Atlanta.
Some of Banner’s comments struck an emotional nerve with Lyfe Jennings, who was also in attendance, and the two’s strong (and differing) perspectives escalated into a shouting match between them, with Tyrese stepping in to intervene.
In light of their heated interaction, Banner has today (July 13) taken to Twitter to continue expressing himself unapologetically.
“The fact that we are so easily distracted is a problem,” he wrote. “They can perpetuate drama but it’s our choice to keep it up. Now let’s move forward.”
While his tweets were on the vague side, he did hint at the positives that came out of his intense discussion with Jennings and used it as a teachable moment.
“Stop bashing our own, this is not a popularity contest,” the rapper continued, raising a valid point. “We must disagree in private and move forward with understanding. Stay focused.”
“Men are supposed to have a difference of opinion,” he added. “(That’s growth.) We are the only ones that let our enemy in the meetings with cameras.”
