Police in North Carolina are searching for a man who admitted to killing his 15-year-old son and shooting his ex-wife in a Facebook Live video post. 

Early on Tuesday, Earl Valentine traveled to his ex-wife Keisha’s home in Warren County. When he arrived at the house, he broke down the door and entered the residence. He then took out a gun and shot both Keisha and his teenage son, Earl Jr., at point blank range.

Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew believes the teenage son intervened to save his mother, which resulted in him being shot. After the shooting, Earl Jr. phoned 911 and informed emergency dispatchers that his father shot him and his mother. Junior later died from his severe injuries.

The elder Valentine fled from the scene and immediately recorded a video on Facebook Live.

“What’s up everybody? I just killed my [expletive] wife,” Earl Valentine said in his video. “I loved my wife, but she deserved what she had coming.”

He continued to speak as to why he wanted to hurt his ex-wife.

“She lied on me, had warrants taken out on me. She drug me all the way down to nothing,” he said. “I don't feel no remorse for what I did.”

After posting the video, which has since been removed from his Facebook page, he called police officers and said that he was driving from North Carolina to Virginia to kill more family members. Police have set up protection for the rest of his family while they hunt for the gunman.

Valentine is facing a first-degree murder charge in his son's death.

Norlina is about 60 miles northeast of Raleigh and approximately 15 miles south of the Virginia state line. Valentine was last seen in a dark-colored SUV.
