Vic Mensa Inspires Youth To Vote With New EP

'There's Alot Going On' is here.

Vic Mensa, 2016’s Respect My Vote! Campaign spokesperson, released his new EP There’s Alot Going On. Through a partnership with Hip Hop Caucus, the rapper is offering his latest project for free to anyone who pledges to vote by July 4 in the 2016 presidential election.

The rapper recently collaborated with Kanye West on an alternate version of “Wolves” on The Life of Pablo. If you’ve been following Vic, then you know that along with the release of this new project, he has also been dropping jewels on world issues for his more woke fans.

The EP includes 7 songs co-produced by Vic and Papi Beatz, who has also worked with newly popular Chance the Rapper. The Chicago native takes his fans on a trip from the past to the present as he reminiscences on his signing to Roc Nation, racial issues as heard on “Shades of Blue”, and a few upbeat relationship tracks like “New Bae" and "Liquor Locker,” that are perfect for the summer.

Loyal Vic Mensa fans will be happy to find out, that previous released songs like “Danger" and "16 Shots” made it on to the final track listing; both inspired by the shooting tragedy surrounding Laquan McDonald, which took place in Mensa's hometown.

By speaking on the issues in his music, Mensa hopes his listeners will understand the extent of the tragedies taking place and the importance of voting.

The Grammy-nominated artist is scheduled to perform at the upcoming Governors Ball Music Festival going down this Sunday, June 5. Get information on how you can catch Mensa live in his element on stage here
