We've already been eyeing the ads for Rihanna's second River Island collection — which features model Jourdan Dunn. And in a preview video, the singer gives us a look into what's going into the summer line. Not only do we see her and designer Adam Selman making adjustments and outfitting models in their creations, but Rih Rih also chats about why she chose certain patterns, what she's loving from the line (hint: everything), and how she hopes every woman will be able to find something fun in the collection.
Expect lots of patterns and materials that were created exclusively for the collection like floral designs and tie-dye fabric. It's this hands-on approach and working from scratch that Rihanna says has helped her learn so much more about fashion design.
"The floral is very timeless. Usually it's very chic, very chick, very flirty, very fun and that's what I wanted," Rihanna says of her patterns. "But I didn't want it to be typical floral, bright colors, I wanted it to be gangster. Still a little muted that you could wear it with rock and roll stuff."
Let's face it: there's very little that Rihanna would look bad in. Her body and confidence are out of this world, but she assures us that her collection will have something for different body shapes and tastes.
"I made a piece for everybody in my crew. We all have different body types and different tastes and some are braver than others, but you know, I think like that because that's how women in the world are. We're all different and we all like different things, we all have different occasions, different moods, and different body types."
And while it's true that Rihanna would proudly wear her entire collection, on the video she gushes about a tie-dye number that she could wear to the beach in Jamaica.
