Here's Why You Should Not Expect Any New Music From Anita Baker
Anita Banker has kept a pretty low profile over the years, and during her down time, many of her fans have begun yearning for new music from the legend. During that time, talks of a new project and tour began swirling, but the "Sweet Love" crooner came out of hiding to let it be known that that's not happening as she's happily retired.
Baker, who is responsible for some of the biggest hits between 1983 and 2004, was last heard, musically, in the Grammy-nominated remake of Tyrese's "Lately." The excitement initiated by the song led many to believe that her highly anticipated seventh studio album, then tentatively titled 21st Century Love — then renamed Only Forever — was well under way.
Now, years later, the singer has announced that it's pretty unlikely that the project will come to fruition as she's reached her goal of retirement.
Take a look at her flexing on Twitter, below:
We're still holding out hope, but we're glad to see Ms. Baker enjoying the fruits of her labor.
