Nas Aims to Help Kidnapped Concert Promoter

Nas says he’ll contribute some money to settle dispute over missed show.

After his failure to appear at a concert got its promoter kidnapped at gunpoint, Nas says he's eager to help resolve the conflict.
The hip hop icon was scheduled to perform at a big New Years Eve show in Angola, but when he neglected to make the trip, it was concert promoter Patrick Allocco who found himself in hot water. Local businessman Henrique Miguel, who ponied up $315,000 to get Nas to perform at the show, had Allocco and his son abducted at gunpoint in his outrage.
The U.S. Embassy later liberated Allocco, a U.S. citizen, but he still hasn't been allowed to leave the country.
TMZ, who broke the story, reports that Nas always wanted to return the performance fee, but has been unsure of where to return the check. Reps for the Queensbridge rapper say he is doing whatever he can to help get Allocco and his son home safely.
