Lil Durk Set to Be Arraigned on Murder-for-Hire Charges Amid Quando Rondo Feud

The Chicago artist faces serious federal charges, including conspiracy and use of firearms, in connection with a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles.

Lil Durk has been transported to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles, where he is set to be arraigned on charges connected to the alleged murder-for-hire plot to kill fellow rapper Quando Rondo.

The Chicago-based artist, whose real name is Durk Davontay Bank, is accused of hiring five associates from his rap collective “Only the Family” (OTF) to kill the rival emcee.

According to documents, the suspects traveled to Los Angeles in August 2022 and opened fire on the rival's vehicle, resulting in the tragic death of his cousin, 24-year-old Saviay’a Robinson.

Durk has been held without bond since his October 24 arrest at a Miami airport, where he was reportedly attempting to flee the country. Authorities claim he booked three separate international flights and planned to take a private jet to Italy.

Durk was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.

The arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. PST time, where the “All My Life” emcee is expected to request bond. However, prosecutors have petitioned for him to remain in custody, citing concerns that he poses both a flight risk and a threat to the community.

If convicted, he could be facing life in prison.
