Kim Kardashian Gets Candid About Co-Parenting Struggles With Kanye West
Kim Kardashian isn’t holding back about the ups and downs of co-parenting with ex-husband Kanye West.
During an appearance on iHeartRadio’s “What in the Winkler?” podcast with host Zoe Winkler, the SKIMS creator opened up about raising the former couple’s four children: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.
“I think you and I have mostly connected on parenting and judgment,” Kim told Zoe in the Nov. 12 episode. “And feeling like sometimes you’re in this alone, even though we have great support systems and people around us. Sometimes, in the middle of the night when they’re all in your bed, kicking you, crying, and waking up—it’s not something I talk about a lot.”
She continued, “People are quick to say, ‘Oh, but you have nannies and help.’ But even with all the help, I’m basically raising four kids by myself.”
Kim also shared the chaos of her family’s morning routine, saying, “This morning, I had five kids to take, and everyone wanted to leave at different times or wanted different things,” comparing her carpool to a “race car driver’s pit stop.”
Despite the whirlwind, Kim emphasized that she’s learning to be kinder to herself and she encourages other moms to “give yourself grace.”
Kim and Kanye first connected in the early 2000s, with their romantic relationship blossoming in 2012. The duo quickly became one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples. After Kanye’s grand proposal in 2013, they married in May 2014 in Florence, Italy.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star filed for divorce in early 2021, and by late 2022, the split was finalized.
