Cee Lo Reveals New Gnarls Barkley Album Coming
Fans of mid-2000s breakout alt-pop duo Gnarls Barkley haven't been able to hear new music from the band since their 2008 sophomore LP The Odd Couple. Instead, various side projects by the band's members, singer Cee Lo Green and producer Danger Mouse, have had to fill the void. According to Cee Lo, though, a new proper Gnarls project is officially in the works.
"There is a new Gnarls Barkley album coming out!" the singer exclaimed in a new Us magazine interview. Cee Lo said that Gnarls will be experimenting with some new collaborators on the as-yet-untitled new project.
"There is a whole bunch of stuff with the collaborations. Hopefully people will like what I am doing, that is always a plus," he said.
Cee Lo went on to say that although he hoped to push the envelope, fans can still expect the signature Gnarls Barkley sound.
"I would hope it would break more grounds," he said, adding, "knowing the nature of the space that we shared I am pretty sure it will be somewhat similar."
You can catch Cee Lo on his new talk show on the Fuse network called Talking to Strangers, which debuts tomorrow. He is also currently a judge on the NBC singing competition series The Voice and plays as an opener on Rihanna's Loud tour.
