Cardi B Says She’s ‘Proud’ of Herself for Avoiding Sex and Dating to Finish Album

The Grammy-winning rapper doesn’t want a single “distraction” while completing her sophomore LP.

Cardi B plans to be intentional and locked in about completing her sophomore album.

Over the weekend, the Grammy-winning rapper, who’s separated from her husband, Offset, shared that while her follow-up to her 2018 debut, “Invasion of Privacy,” is still underway, she’s abstaining from sex and dating to keep focus.

“I don’t even want to take d**k right now, because every single time I take d**k, I get distracted. I don’t want no distraction,” Cardi explained in the clip below. “This January is a very crucial month for me. I put a little pause on my dating life, because January is very, very, very important, and I have a mission to complete.”

Cardi added that if her plans aren’t completed, it’s going to “f**k up the schedule” for her album rollout, although last year, she released singles “On Dat Money” featuring Rob49, “Enough (Miami)” and “Like What (Freestyle).”

On the temptation she faces, Cardi expressed feeling like she’s been “tested,” but it hasn’t “affected” her. “I’m so proud of myself and I’m so focused. Because I’m a very emotional person, and when I get emotional, I don’t do things with love,” she added. “And you could hear it in my music: my voice cracks a lot. You could see it in my face when I work. I just don’t got thrive when I get emotional.”

Cardi signed off by sharing that she doesn’t want “laziness,” “comfortability,” or “sadness” to sidetrack her.

“I don’t even want to entertain n****s because I’m the type of person that, if I text you and you ain’t text me back in thirty minutes, you pissed me off,” Cardi warned. “So now I’m pissed at you for a whole two hours, so now I’m distracted. So I don’t even want to entertain n****s right now until my work is out the way.”

Cardi and Offset spent their holidays separately, with the “Bongos” rapper taking care of their youngest children, Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 6, while the former Migos member was with his oldest children, Jordan 15, Kody and Kalea, both 9.
