When it comes to being a dad and talking about his kids, Bill Bellamy, actor, comedian, TV personality and producer, is all smiles.

“Being a dad is amazing,” shared Bellamy during a recent sit-down interview with BET Networks.

A proud father of two, Bellamy jokes about giving his children soap opera names because he and his wife wanted their kids to feel like they were going to get an iPhone at the age of three, even though that didn’t actually happen.

On fatherhood, Bellamy shares, “I’m blessed to have a son and a daughter. I like to call them them AM and FM. With a boy and a girl, they are wired so differently; two different complete styles of people.”

Bellamy notes that his daughter, Bailey, is emotional, sensitive, talented and delightfully energetic, but delicate. Bellamy lovingly says, “She’s very delicate, so you have to talk to her in a certain way and encourage her in a certain way.”

When it comes to his son, Baron, Bellamy also describes him as sensitive, but with a different energy about him.

Bellamy shares, “Becoming a dad was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. It gave me a sense of responsibility, love and accomplishment. It’s been an amazing journey learning these two little new human children.”

“Whatever you do, good and bad, they are sponges and they will impersonate you,” Bellamy says as a warning to new dads. “Trust me,” he adds. “They will say what you say, how you said it, in another embarrassing time.”

For Bellamy, it’s all about giving it your all and not giving up, as he shares his words of wisdom for his children with us. “If you fall, it’s okay, as long as you get up. Bellamys never quit.”
