LisaRaye McCoy: "I'm Trying Celibacy"

The Player's Club actress explains why she's giving up sex.

LisaRaye McCoy is putting her cookie back in the jar.
The recently divorced Player's Club actress, 45, reveals to CocoaFab.com that she's exploring celibacy. “I’m in a new place. I’ve tried everything but celibacy, and I really want to know what it feels like to be touched by someone with a mental touch and not a physical touch,” she explains.

“I want to know what it is to build the foundation of the friendship for real, to have my best friend. I’m waiting for that person to come into my life," she adds.
The beautiful actress and mother recently revealed to Upscale magazine that her messy split from husband Michael Misick, the former Premier of Turks & Caicos, brought her closer to God. Looks like that bond remains unbroken: "When I get myself together, I know God is gonna bless me with [a good relationship]," she shares. "I don’t want to come with extra baggage.”
Among the reasons McCoy cites for her difficulty in meeting quality men is that many guys are too taken aback by her physical beauty to see the real LisaRaye. “When men meet me, they’re in awe of the image. I’m so turned off by that," she explains. "You don’t know I can be a great friend. You don’t know I can cook. You don’t know that I’m a nurturer. Because the image is the strong, confident woman that’s like, 'Bam! In your face.'"
