Young Thug Apologizes to Mariah the Scientist Following Leaked Call With Leena Sayed

In time for Christmas, the “Business Is Business” rapper showed where his heart is.

Young Thug wants to make things right with Mariah the Scientist, his girlfriend of nearly three years.

On Monday, December 23, a 2022 footage leaked of the Atlanta rapper having a conjugal visit video call with model Leena Sayed, who’s currently expecting a child with boxer Devin Haney. The conversation appeared to be romantic in nature, sparking concern amongst some on social media, as Thug would’ve been dating Mariah for about a year when the call was recorded. But rather than avoiding the gossip, the “Business Is Business” artist went to X, formerly Twitter, on Christmas Eve with a public apology for Mariah.

“Sorry to my baby for all this b******* on the internet. I love u baby and f*** em all we know what’s up with us!” Thug wrote. In another post, he wrote, “She so mad, I said merry Christmas and she said thank u 💀”

The day before, Thug denied that his conversation with Sayed meant that the two were in a relationship, calling her “twin.” In an Instagram Story, while she told Thug not to call her twin, Sayed stressed that she’s “100 percent down” for Haney, calling him her "baby daddy."

Mariah supported Thug throughout his YSL trial, which concluded last month, shortly after the rapper was released for pleading guilty to gang, drug and gun charges. Thug was sentenced to time served along with 15 years of probation. At one point during the trial, he wore a hoodie reading “I Love Mariah,” dedicated to the “To Be Eaten Alive” singer.
