Chad Johnson Charged With Battery

One month after being arrested for allegedly head-butting his wife, Evelyn Lozada, Chad Johnson has been charged with misdemeanor battery by a court in Broward County, Florida, TMZ reports.
Though the football player could face up to a year in jail if convicted, the charge is only a small part of the fallout stemming from the August 11 incident, in which a heated argument between the former couple turned violent. In the month since, Johnson has lost his marriage, career, endorsement deals and television show.
Lozada and Johnson had barely been married a month at the time of the incident. Lozada has since filed for divorce, claiming her marriage to Johnson is "irretrievably broken." Johnson has so far refused to sign the divorce papers, saying he's still in love with Lozada and even tattooed her face on his leg to prove his point.
No trial date has been set.
