'Honor Up': Dame Dash’s Raw Tale of Loyalty and Survival to Premiere on BET
Damon “Dame” Dash, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, made his directorial mark with Honor Up, a raw and unflinching look at loyalty, betrayal, and survival in the streets. Released in 2018 and executive produced by Kanye West, the film will make its BET premiere on December 7th at 9 PM.
Set in a world where loyalty is everything, Honor Up follows OG, played by Dash, a former street enforcer fighting to keep his crew together as chaos erupts. OG’s struggles to maintain a strict code of honor are tested as younger members of the crew challenge his authority, pushing him toward a dangerous crossroads. Themes of redemption weave through the story, as OG grapples with his past while seeking to protect his family and build a better future.
Shot with gritty visuals, Honor Up immerses viewers in the high-stakes realities of OG’s world. Dash delivers a layered performance, showing both strength and vulnerability, while the cast—including Nicholas Turturro, Smoke DZA, and Cam’ron—bring authenticity to the story. Kanye West’s role as executive producer adds an extra layer of depth, influencing the film’s tone and music.
You can catch the movie on December 7 at 9pm on BET.
