John Legend Interested In ‘Piano Duel’ Against Alicia Keys For Verzuz Battle
In an exciting twist on the IG Live faceoffs, John Legend said he’d be open to Verzuz battle with Alicia Keys, and Legend envisioned their match could be a “piano duel” of sorts.
The EGOT artist appeared on Power 106 radio show Nick Cannon Mornings, safely at home, where he talked about how his family’s quarantine experience is going, forthcoming projects, and ESPN’s acclaimed Last Dance docuseries.
During the conversation, Legend also shared that he’s gearing up to release a new album this summer. The “All of Me” singer first unveiled the project in April, and gave a preview of the album with the single, “Actions.”
With all of his accomplishments, Nick felt that it was only a matter of time until Legend was called to participate Verzuz battle and named his fellow Voice coach Alicia Keys as the one opponent he’d like to him go up against. Legend was all for it. “I think that’d probably be the best thing. And, honestly I think we would do it...if we did it like a dueling piano thing,” he said around the 8:30-minute mark, before adding “I think we will.”
