R. Kelly's Manager Reportedly Caught Threatening Victim's Father Over 'Surviving R. Kelly'
Despite R. Kelly attempting to silence his Surviving R. Kelly victims with a rebutting “Surviving Lies” website, contrived to allegedly expose the falsehoods he claims were presented in the docu-series, it appears that some lies from his own team are coming out of the closet instead.
First up is his manager, Don Russell, who The Blast reports is on the receiving end of a legal allegation from Timothy Savage, the father of one of Kelly’s sex cult victims. According to the police report obtained by the site, Savage told police that he was receiving threats from Russell regarding the Lifetime documentary. The threats ranged from text messages to phone calls, The Blast reports. But after police reportedly heard one of those phone calls for themselves, Mr. Russell has a lot of explaining to do.
In the report, The Blast states that Savage called police to his Georgia home in the wee hours of January 3
The father of Joycelyn Savage, one of the young women who made headlines last year for her victimization in Kelly’s sex cult, said that Russell sent threats with the knowledge of his involvement with the docu-series. “It would be best for [him] and [his family] if the documentary does not air,” Savage told police of the alleged text messages from Russell. Afterward, he said, he began receiving text messages from the manager.
The site also found that police stated they were with Savage during one of the phone calls from Russell
He put the phone on speaker as police listened in on the conversation, The Blast reports of the police witnesses, as they heard Russell accuse Timothy of falsifying information to Lifetime for the documentary. Russell reportedly said that if he continued his involvement with it, he and Kelly “would be forced to provide information disproving Timothy.” This supposed information would also “ruin him, his reputation, business, and family because it would show him a liar.”
The site concludes that the threats and report are now under further investigation from authorities.
