White Georgia Gov. Candidate Slammed For Superimposing Her Face Over Martin Luther King Jr.
A candidate looking to secure the democratic spot in the Georgia governor race has sparked criticism for what many people are calling a “tone-deaf” campaign ad.
Democrat Stacey Evans’ campaign video included clips from her visit to the Ebenezer Baptist Church on MLK Day. At the end of the 43-second clip, an image of Evans’ face slowly fades over a poster of Dr. King, juxtaposing the two faces.
Although the video was deleted from Evans’ Instagram, a YouTube video was made and shared to Twitter
The imposing of Evans’ image over that of Dr. King’s was too ridiculous for most to handle
Evans was also called out for using Black people as props to get votes

To make things worse, Evans responded to the criticism by blaming her opponent
The Evans campaign said her Democratic rival, ex-House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, is criticizing the video to “distort” the meaning behind the ad and Evans will “continue to seek the vote of every Georgian who wants to bring hope back to Georgia.”
“No matter how much others may seek division for political gain, we will remain focused on bringing Georgians together to win this election and accomplish those goals,” Evans’ campaign said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
