Unlikely Hero: Kanye West Is Ready To Fix The Apple Vs. Tidal Beef That's Ruining Music
In true Kanye West form, the rapper has taken to Twitter to air some grievances he feels are ruining music.
Addressing possibly the elephant in the room, West writes he thinks the competition (i.e. beef) between Tidal and Apple is “f***ing up the music game.” While he may be onto something there, he also posed a suggestion to resolve these issues, asking for a meeting or a phone call with some of the streaming industry leaders, including Apple executives Tim Cook, Jimmy Iovine and Larry Jackson.
“F**k all this dick swinging contest,” he posted on Twitter. “We all gon be dead in 100 Years. Let the kids have the music.”
Continuing on in his rant, he calls for a meeting between the aforementioned Apple execs, asking for them to meet with himself, Jay Z, Drake and manager Scooter Braun to talk about his frustrations with the streaming services.
He also poses a suggestion while also calling out the former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, offering, “Apple give Jay his check for Tidal now and stop trying to act like you Steve.”
Earlier this summer, it was reported that Apple is interested in possibly acquiring its competition, Tidal, and West is sharing he’s more than here for that, asking for everyone to cut to the chase and sign some checks. Maybe 'Ye has the push and clout to make that alleged business deal actually go down.
