Middle of Nowhere , Argo Win at AAFCA Awards
The African-American film critics have spoken and Middle of Nowhere was their favorite film of the year!
The African American Film Critics Association held their annual awards banquet in Hollywood on Monday night, honoring Ava DuVernay's indie hit with four awards. Nate Parker won an acting prize for his role in Arbitrage and Ben Affleck won Best Director for his awards season favorite Argo.
The audience was packed with stars including Danny Glover, Lynn Whitfield, Jordin Sparks, Richard Roundtree and David Oyelowo. "The event was fabulous!" gushed actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who has attended the annual event since 2009. "I'm all ready to get my invite for next year."
The Los Angeles-based AAFCA is Hollywood's premier body of Black film critics and media professionals, dedicated to creating awareness for films with universal appeal to Black audiences.
