Curren$y Calls Legal Issue With Dame Dash a Lesson
After suing his former label boss Dame Dash for $1.5 million in March, Curren$y is staying mum about the soured relationship but says he has no regrets.
In a recent interview with XXL, Curren$y was reluctant to talk about the lawsuit, which alleges that Dash illegally attempted to sell the NOLA rapper's 2011 LP The Muscle Car Chronicles under his BluRoc label.
“I don’t know what we gonna do, but when it’s all said and done, I’ll tell y’all about it,” Curren$y said of the litigation.
Spitta and Dash had planned a rebirth of sorts for Roc-A-Fella Records, but parted ways last year after releasing the albums Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk 2. Curren$y is now signed to Warner Bros. and says, all told, he isn't disappointed with the experience.
“Not ever disappointed,” he said. “Any situation I ever been through I look at it as a lesson. Just learning something. It’s not something you should be disappointed from. It should be an opportunity for you to get some game. It’s all good. I’m glad. I’m glad.”
Curren$y's new album, Stoned Immaculate, is due June 12.
