Lil Jon's get-out-the-vote video "Turn Out for What," a remix of his hit song "Turn Down for What," brought smiles to viewers' faces and hopefully encouraged young voters across the nation to rock the vote. And for those who didn't take his charge seriously, consider this:

The rapper, whose real name is Jonathan Smith, flew this morning from Los Angeles to Atlanta, where he's registered, to vote in person because he never received an absentee ballot by mail.

"6AM FLIGHT TO ATL TO VOTE BECAUSE GA NEVA SENT MY BALLOT AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS!!! U CANT DISCOURAGE ME! #VOTETODAY @TURNOUTFORWHAT #ROCKTHEVOTE" he posted on Instagram from LAX.

Later in the day, he announced his mission had been accomplished.
Fulton County elections official John Barron told reporters that an absentee ballot had been mailed to Smith on Oct. 27 and that his office had not received any phone calls from the rapper.
Most people can't afford to jet cross-country to vote, out of necessity or as a grand gesture, but his determination puts any other excuse, minus illness or death, to serious shame.
