Throughout the duration of his campaign, Donald Trump made the strong promise to his supporters that he would be eliminating Obamacare, even going as far as to say he'd begin with that motion on "day one" of his administration.

Not even a full week after winning the election, the Republican president-elect has now had a change of heart, saying that the law could be "amended," as opposed to "abolished."

As shared during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, after his meeting with President Obama at the White House the day after the election (Nov. 10), Trump was reconsidering his position.

"Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced," Trump said.

According to the reports, during the meeting between the two, Obama suggested that there were components of the law that could be saved. Trump later agreed, saying, that he would "look at his suggestions, and out of respect, I will do that."

Specifically, Trump mentioned that he liked the provision of the law that allows young adults to stay on their parents' plans, as well as the ban on denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions.

Trump's campaign website has not yet been updated to reflect his new perspective, describing Obamacare as "certain to collapse of its own weight," while also adding, "no person should be required to buy insurance unless he or she wants to."

Additionally, as of this weekend, the website still states, "On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare."
