Five Wild Moments From ‘Average Joe’

Here's a recap of some of the most shocking moments from the first season of 'Average Joe.'

"Average Joe" has been a wild ride. Season one might be over, but that doesn’t mean the fun can’t continue. It’s time to rewatch and revel in the past season as we wait and see if there will be a second season. Writers and actors are still on strike in Hollywood, so that’s still up in the air, but in the meantime, let’s take a walk down memory lane. Here are five of the wildest moments from the series.

'Average Joe': Joe Fights Fiercely, But Some Might Not Make It

Dimitri Unleashing Hell

The show's premise is that Joe’s father lived a double life that no one knew about until after his death unleashed a world of drama. That drama, for Joe, was finding out that his father stole money from the Russian mob and that he owed the debt. However, none of us were prepared for Dimitri, Joe’s daughter’s seemingly well-mannered boyfriend, to be the one to kick off the chain of unfortunate events.

Angela Stuck It Out

Angie did not sign up for any of that mess when she married Joe, but she was valiantly stuck by Joe throughout the tumultuous journey — at least until they got to some type of resolution: Nicolai’s death.

Joe’s Sturdy Friendships

It’s more likely that a spouse would stick out in this crazy situation than friends would, but Touch, Leon and Cathy were there until the end. The prospect of getting a mega payout didn’t hurt, but is the prospect of being murdered by mobsters or going to jail really that much more worth peace of mind?

The Governor

Corrupt politicians are nothing new, but it was wild that the governor asked Pam to stop investigating the case altogether. It was a less polite request and more like lowkey demand and threat.

The Finale

Did Touch really kill himself? Is Cathy dead? Will Leon go to jail for shooting an undercover cop? Will Angela and Jen ever return? This was a wild finale and we can only hope we won’t be left hanging forever.
