Dennis Rodman Issues Apology to Daughter, Trinity: ‘I’m Still Here’

The former NBA star says he “never will stop” trying to make amends with his youngest child.

A sprawling Instagram message came from former NBA player, Dennis Rodman, on Thursday, December 19, after his professional soccer player daughter, Trinity, appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. In the video below, Trinity reflected on playing a match in 2021 where Rodman abruptly showed up, which made her emotional. Although Trinity’s team won the game, Rodman hadn’t seen his daughter play in years, and it would be another three years until the two would speak again.

During a key moment of the interview, Trinity accused Rodman of missing fatherly qualities and being an alcoholic. “He’s a person, but he’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, nothing else,” Trinity told host Alex Cooper on the episode.

Rodman heard his youngest child’s remarks loud and clear because he posted an Instagram reel with photos of himself and his children and spoke directly to Trinity in the caption.

“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop," Rodman wrote. "I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time.”

He continued, "I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am. I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that."

He concluded by suggesting that the ball was in Trinity’s court. “I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here Dennis RODMAN."

The Chicago Bulls alum ended the caption by saying that he frequently watches Trinity play and once flew somewhere to watch his daughter’s game but was instructed "not to show up." As a result, Rodman managed to catch Trinity's game from the balcony of a neighboring hotel.

Rodman shares Trinity with his ex-wife, Michelle Moyer, while he also has a 36-year-old daughter, Alexis, with his first wife, Annie Bakes, and a 23-year-old son, DJ, also with Moyer.
