Austin Police report that a fourth victim died Thursday (March 27), after sustaining injuries during the SXSW hit-and-run incident earlier this month.

18-year-old DeAndre Tatum was in critical condition following the fatal crash, which occurred March 13, and remained that way until his passing. Sandy Le, 26; Jamie West, 27; and Steven Craenmehr, 35, also died from the crash.

"His family is in our thoughts and prayers," tweeted out the Austin Police Department.

At least 20 more were injured, including Tatum's girlfriend, Curtisha Davis, 19. She sustained broken bones and a neck injury, reports KXAN. She was released from the hospital March 19.

The driver, 21-year-old Rashad Charjuan Owens, an aspiring rapper from Texas, was attempting to evade a police checkpoint at the time of the incident. He plowed through a crowd, hitting dozens of people, and was eventually caught. After he was arrested and treated, it was revealed that his blood alcohol content level was .114.

In Texas, the legal limit is .08.

Owens has been charged with capital murder and is still in custody. A judge has set his bail at $3 million.
