Jermaine Jones to Get the Boot From American Idol
Jermaine Jones, a contestant on the current season of American Idol, has been kicked out of the competition after producers learned he had concealed a criminal background.
Jones was one of 12 finalists in the competition and recently wowed judges with a rendition of Luther Vandross's "Dance With My Father Again." But producers discovered he was arrested twice last year and had a warrant out for his arrest, facts which he had withheld from producers of the show, TMZ reports.
The arrest reportedly stemmed from violent altercations. Jones was also exposed for allegedly making up a story about being estranged from his father. TMZ later spoke with Kevin Jones, who said the relationship with his son is fine and that he is not the deadbeat Jermaine portrayed him as on the show.
Tonight’s broadcast will reportedly be Jones’s last performance before he is removed from the competition.
