Lawsuit Over Young Thug's Canceled Concert Dismissed In New York
A 2021 concert at the New York Fairgrounds had contracted Young Thug to perform at it, but after the event was allegedly poorly advertised by the State and other entities, it was canceled.
As a result, the concert’s promoters immediately filed suit, claiming that the show failed due to alleged “racial animus” toward the relevant parties.
“Defendants’ failure to fulfill their contractual obligations was allegedly grounded on racial animus toward plaintiffs, to the race of Young Thug, to the concert, and to the perceived race of the anticipated concertgoers,” the suit claimed, according to the New York Law Journal.

That lawsuit has now reportedly been dismissed. In a decision earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes of the Northern District of New York granted the state’s request to dismiss the case because the state, as an entity, is a corporation and not a person.
Court documents obtained by Courthouse News reveal that the plaintiffs have filed for leave to re-file the suit on additional tortious grounds. The remaining responding defendants in the case have since requested more time to respond.
