College Student Accused Of Making Terrorist Threat After Quoting Tyler The Creator Lyrics
One college student has found himself in some hot water just as the semester kicked off. The student in question, 21-year-old Jack Aaron Christensen, was arrested and charged with making a terroristic threat over some choice rap lyrics earlier this month.
The 21-year-old found himself in trouble with the University of South Alabama after he wrote some Tyler the Creator lyrics on a large flip chart located inside the school’s library, according to the Associated Press.
As of now, it has not been stated what charges or repercussions will ultimately be brought against Christensen.
In court documents, Christensen allegedly quoted verses from Tyler’s song “Radical,” that references killing and burning people. The report doesn’t explicitly state what the lyrics were but school has already issued a swift response.
The 21-year-old has currently been “barred from university property pending the outcome of student conduct processes,” according to a campus-wide email that was sent to students and employees from Michael Mitchell, the Vice President for Student Affairs.
“No matter the circumstances, our police must treat any possible threat with the utmost seriousness and act immediately to ensure the safety of our campus community,” Mitchell concluded in his statement that was obtained by the AP.
The incident reportedly happened “on or around” the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that claimed nearly 3,000 lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
We will keep you updated on further developments.
