Fans are finally able to wrap their minds around J. Cole’s mysterious tweet indicating a New York pop-up, and their suspicions were correct: the rap icon has new music on the way.

Cole announced that the new K.O.D. album will arrive on Friday (April 20), which is ironically the same date as the globally recognized “Weed Day.” What makes the release so ironic is the three meanings behind the album’s acronym, which was released with the track list and cover artwork for the project on Wednesday (April 18): Kids on Drugs, King Overdose and Kill Our Demons.

The trippy, abstract sketch of the cover depicts a ghostly Cole with a king’s crown and a royal cloak as drug-addicted children sip lean, snort coke and pop pills beneath it. Skeleton heads are also reared behind the children, and a fine-print message atop the portrait reads, “This album is in no way intended to glorify addiction.”

The back cover expands on this image, showing more children floating on a drugged-up cloud nine, complete with more lean, more pills, more cocaine, weed, a needle, more substances and a 12-song track list.

With less than 48 hours before the album’s arrival, the ante is already accelerated to crazy levels. And Dreamville fans are falling off the deep end trying to pull together theories before then.
