Panic Strikes Elementary School in San Bernardino After Man and Woman Were Killed in Apparent Murder-Suicide Shooting
A shooting at an elementary school in San Bernardino, California, has resulted in the death of two adults and the injuring of two students, said San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan.
The North Park Elementary school shooting is believed to be a murder-suicide. Although police are still containing the area, no further threat is known, according to authorities.
Burguan said the two people wounded — who are believed to be students — have been transferred to a nearby hospital. They are said to be in critical condition.
The San Bernardino City Unified School District said parents of North Park students must bring ID to Cajon High School, where they will be reunited with their children.
School officials have told press the shooting was said to be “isolated to the campus.” The LA Times reported North Park staff were sent an email which read, “This is believed to be a case of domestic violence.”
Several frantic parents have rushed to Cajon in order to take their children home
Another parent had recently moved to the area from Highland because he believed it would be safer.
“I came because they said it was safer, more isolated. But I guess it’s not that way,” said David Zamudio, father of a 6-year-old second grader.
Chief Burguan sent tweets informing residents of the status of the situation
