Lance Gross recently had an encounter with police that ended in well, a pretty inspirational way.

The actor was reportedly pulled over by cops while he was driving before a Black couple pulled up behind him to check if everything was okay. He deemed it “power in numbers.”

“Man I swear I love my people! Got pulled over by a cop just now & another couple stopped to take the time to pull over also to make sure I was good!” he tweeted. “Chain reaction cause now I’ma start doing that for the next! Even though I never felt threatened, cop felt our presence.”

Sure, taking a video of any police encounter with a person of color is always a good idea, but when you can pull up and lend a helping hand, that may even be better.

We’re glad Lance is okay and that he’s inspiring others to help. Maybe this could be the next best thing to go viral.

Commenters replied to Gross’ tweet. Most applauded his behavior but some were sad that it has even come to this. “I hate this is even necessary,” they wrote.
