Timbaland and Nelly Furtado will be resting easy this weekend, as the pair have just beat a lawsuit that could have cost them up to $20 million.
The suit, filed in 2009 following the release of Furtado's Timbo-produced album Loose, alleged that the beat from the song "Do It" was illegally poached from another song called "Acid Jazzed Evening" owned by the Finnish label Kernal Records Oy.
A Miami judge tossed out the case on the grounds that "Acid Jazzed Evening" wasn't properly copyrighted under U.S. law.
Timbaland isn't exactly free and clear of all lawsuits yet, though. The superproducer still likely faces a suit over the 2000 song "Big Pimpin'" with Jay-Z, which uses an Egyptian sample whose licensing approval is in dispute.
