Rihanna Preps Intense Video for "Man Down"

The pop star travels to Jamaica to wrap up dark visuals for forthcoming video.

Rihanna’s got a gun and she's using it in her next music video.

The pop siren has reunited with "California King Bed" director Anthony Mandler to film the video for her next single, “Man Down,” a song about a young woman who seeks forgiveness after killing a man.

Mandler says the video will starkly contrast the recently released “California King Bed” visuals. “It’s just one of those songs that demands a strong narrative and visual, and let’s just say she let me go all the way,” the director told MTV. “So I think you can expect something that’s dramatic and shocking and intense and emotional and uplifting and enlightening.”

When asked if the RiRi would play the role of the gun-toting femme fatale in question, Mandler said, “Without saying too much, if you’re looking for a narrative you’re not going to be disappointed. Just know that it’s going to be exciting.”

Mandler and Rihanna have worked together on 16 previous videos including the strikingly dark “Disturbia” and “Russian Roulette.”  No word yet on when this video will debut.
