Watch: Police Dragged a Woman by the Wrists off Delta Airlines Flight for 'Not Complying With Boarding Procedures'
On Monday, police officers at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport dragged a female passenger off a Delta Air Lines flight after she refused to follow rules for boarding the plane, Delta and airport officials said.
The unidentified female passenger allegedly rushed past check in for the flight. She then got on the flight bound for San Diego without “complying with boarding and baggage check procedures,” Delta spokesman Trebor Banstetter told ABC News.
“The passenger was removed by local law enforcement, and the flight was able to continue without further incident,” Banstetter said.
The incident was captured on video by another passenger and posted to YouTube by Rene deLambert, a travel blogger
Passengers on the plane can be heard whispering to one another.
“I think they Tased her,” one individual can be heard saying.
“That’s some crazy [s**t],” another person says as other passengers break out into laughter.
As the officers dragged the woman down the aisle, people sitting in the seats could not help but turn their heads to get a glimpse of the motionless woman.
On Monday's Rene's Points blog post, a passenger on the flight recounted what they saw
“She didn’t check in with gate agent and walked right on. [The] woman blew by the gate agent and didn’t check in because she wasn’t an early boarder and deserved overhead bin space. Colleague in back by her said she was mouthy and had a huge attitude. Police tackled her out of her seat and brought her to the ground. Not sure how she was subdued, some people speculated a Taser," the unnamed passenger wrote to Renespoints.com.
Since the video was released, many have started to compare it to the angry Trump supporter who called Delta passengers 'Hillary b*****s' but was left alone by crew and security
Wayne County prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Maria Miller said the case is being reviewed by the city attorney in Romulus, the suburb where the airport is located. Charges against the woman are pending, reported the Washington Post.
