Lauryn Hill Heading Out On Post-Prison Tour

Judge greenlights multi-date jaunt.

A judge has delayed Lauryn Hill's house arrest sentence so she can go on tour, TMZ reports. Ms. Hill ended her three-month prison stint for tax evasion last Friday (Oct. 4) and plans to begin a series of live shows from Nov. 15 through the end of the year.

While Hill is required to log dates, locations and other details with her probation officer, the site says her three-month home confinement will now begin on New Year's Day.

Hours before her prison release, the Grammy winner dropped "Consumerism," the latest in pre-prison material birthed from a "need to discuss the underlying socio-political, cultural paradigm," as she explained it on Tumblr.

"I couldn’t imagine it not being relevant," Hill continued online. "Messages like these I imagine find their audience, or their audience finds them, like water seeking it’s level."

Thus far, the music hasn't found the same commercial footing as cuts from her seminal 1998 album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Hitting the road has been another risky move for the fomer Fugees member. She made her way back to the spotlight by popping up at various live sets only to build a reputation for tardiness and erratic performances. During a stint on the Life Is Good/Black Rage tour with Nas last year, the mother of six was booed in two separate locations, reportedly for ranting on stage.

Hill hasn't made a formal announcement about the upcoming trek but has confirmed work on a new album, Letters From Exile
