Residents in Chicago fear the cases of four girls who went missing — two of whom were found dead — may be related in some way.

Starting in March, Sadaria Davis (far right), 15, Shantieya Smith (middle left), 26, Victoria Garrett (middle right), 15, and Anna Stanislawczyk (far left), 18, went missing. On May 11, Davis was found dead in an abandoned building, reported WGN News.

Then on June 7, the body of Shantieya Smith was found dead beneath a car in a parking garage, according to CBS Chicago.

As the details of these cases remain scarce, the West side community fears there may be something larger going on.

"We started noticing that young women were disappearing and nobody was finding them," the Rev. Robin Hood told WGN News.

"Increasingly, the neighborhood began to talk about people that were missing. We know sometimes that people who are runaways or missing — they sometimes show up. But the fear that we have ... is that these last four young ladies didn't show up, and one of them is dead,” Hood told reporters before Smith’s body was found.

He continued: "It's terrifying. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something is going on."

Detectives with the Chicago Police Department are still investigating if and how the cases could be linked.

Smith leaves behind a 7-year-old daughter.

“Our biggest fear is there is some type of predator loose," Hood told reporters. "Whether they’re kidnapping or murdering, we need answers."
